A conversation with newest Marketing Services team member Leah Markham

Leah Markham | Jr. Graphic Designer/Marketing Assistant

We sat down with the newest member of NAI Hunneman, Leah Markham. The Brighton resident and Groton native is a graduate of Roger William College who recently joined NAI Hunneman as a Jr. Graphic Designer/Marketing Assistant.

NAIH: Who do you work with & what have you learned from them?

I work closely with the Marketing team (Dave Finnegan and Amy Stewart), as well as the other marketing assistants. They have all been very helpful in teaching me about the NAI Hunneman brand and our goals as a marketing team. Also, working with the North Team of brokers, I have learned so much about the industry as a whole. There is so much information so I am constantly learning.

NAIH: What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy being active and spending time outside in any way I can, whether it be going to the beach in the summer or snowboarding in the winter, I love it all! Most of my outdoor activities are usually always accompanied by my camera, I love photography.

NAIH: Why NAI Hunneman?

I was really excited about NAI Hunneman’s culture and how friendly everyone was. It seemed like a fun environment that would motivate me to want to come to work, learn and give my all. Work-life balance is really important to me and it seemed like that was something that resonated with others working here as well.

NAIH: Do you have any past experience that also helps you in your role?

Prior to NAI Hunneman, I worked as a graphic designer for a pharmaceutical company, which was very fast-paced. Though the marketing assistant side of my role is all new to me, my previous experience definitely helped prepare me for taking on my current hybrid role.

NAIH: What keeps you motivated?

I am constantly motivated by my family, especially my parents. I am very fortunate to have such hardworking parents to look up to as role-models. I hope to give the same support and motivation to my younger brother who is a lacrosse player at the University of New Hampshire.

NAIH: What has been your biggest challenge you’ve faced so far and how did you handle it?

So far, my biggest challenge has been learning the industry. This was a drastic change coming from a pharmaceutical firm, but I quickly learned that I cannot be afraid to ask questions. I learn something new every day and it definitely keeps things interesting, making my day go by quickly.

NAIH: Tell us a fact that we may not know about you.

One thing that most people may not know about me is that I have always had an obsession with driving. Having grown up around machines such as snowmobiles, four-wheelers and boats, I love being behind the wheel (or handlebar).

NAIH: What made you chose graphic design as your career?

I have always been a creative thinker and enjoyed any art/photography class in school. I wanted to pursue something that combined both talent and passion.

NAIH: How do you like working in Fort Point?

I am absolutely loving the location. I have always been drawn to the water, so even on a rainy day I can’t help but appreciate the views. There are also several new restaurants in the area I am excited to try!
